Stephanie L. Tigue, Attorney At Law

Prior to opening my office, Tigue Law Firm, I was a prosecutor in the Lackawanna County District Attorney's office for 6 1/2 years. I handled domestic violence cases, PFA contempts, theft and fraud cases, drug cases, robberies, burglaries, and assaults. I also gained experience in a law firm environment researching and litigating unique issues in personal injury cases for 2 years. Today, my practice is dedicated to helping people overcome problems in family law, protection from abuse (PFA) and criminal defense - areas that require an intimate knowledge of the law, as well as an in depth understanding of how my clients are personally affected by their cases.

My family law clients are typically going through changes to family structure that involve divorce proceedings, division of marital assets, child custody agreements, and spousal support (alimony) issues. In some cases, domestic violence is an issue, and protection from abuse orders are necessary. I can aggressively fight for my clients and ensure that their rights are protected.

Furthermore, nothing influences a family quite like criminal charges. My experience as a former prosecutor has given me a comprehensive understanding of the court system and recognition that substance abuse, mental health issues and other problems warrant rehabilitative measures. I will help my clients address their issues that may fuel such crimes as theft and property crimes, white collar crimes, or even crimes of violence.

My Experience

I worked as an Assistant District Attorney for 6 ½ years. I was a member of the Domestic Violence and Protection From Abuse (PFA) prosecution units, and I prosecuted and tried such violent and non-violent crimes as assault, stalking, robbery, burglary, theft, fraud and drug offenses. I also wrote legal briefs and argued cases before the Pennsylvania Superior Court.

Prior to working for the DA's office, I worked for a prominent personal injury law firm for 2 years.
